We are pleased to announce that two of our high school ASB officers–Brianna Johnson and Madelyn Dielman–have partnered with our leadership teacher (Haleigh See), our school counselor (Kellyn Hazen), and our student support specialist (Karli Nelson), in creating the "Comet Tree." The Comet Tree is a resurrection of what some community members may fondly remember as the "Angel Tree. " This tree will allow interested parents, guardians, staff, and community members to support families in need with gifts, clothing, and other necessities during this holiday season.
We are very excited to provide this opportunity for interested individuals to make this holiday time more special for some of our students and families. If you are interested in participating or in blessing a student or family with holiday gifts or clothing, please come to the school office to sign up and to pick up a tag from our Comet Tree. The tags contain important information about the ages, clothing sizes, and other gift ideas for the students and families. There are already 12 tags on our Comet Tree in the office.
We respectfully ask that Comet Tree gifts be returned unwrapped to the school on or before December 17 so that our leadership students can wrap the items. Adults from the school will deliver them to families as we head into winter break. If you have any questions or would like to recommend a family, please contact Miss See, Miss Nelson, Mrs. Hazen, or our office staff. We will keep all information confidential. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season!

All bus routes will run 2 hours later than normal
School start times will be 2 hours later than normal
We will re-evaluate conditions in the morning and will communicate any changes (including the possibility of a closure) through our district website, Parent Square, and official social media channels.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. Please travel carefully and stay safe.

Our Career & Technical Education (CTE) opportunities are expanding! We’re thrilled to share that Mr. Justin Hoagland has officially obtained his CTE certification, allowing us to add even more hands-on, career-connected learning for students.
As of December 1st,our 7th, 8th, and 9th grade classes taught by Mr. Hoagland are now approved as CTE courses. This means more real-world skills, more engaging learning experiences, and more pathways for our students to explore future careers in areas like natural resources, aquaculture, forestry, and more.
We are proud of the continued growth of our CTE program and grateful for Mr. Hoagland’s commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for our students.
Comet and Wildcat Pride continues to shine bright! 💫

Due to localized flooding in the area, we are actively evaluating the situation to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Our team is contacting the parents/guardians of students who will need to be brought home early.
Additionally, we will be closely monitoring the weather and river conditions over the next few days to determine any impacts on school operations. We will communicate updates as soon as decisions are made.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please enjoy, and let us know if you have any suggestions for future articles.
