Our high school robotics team participated in a First Tech Challenge robotics competition at Skyview High School in Vancouver on Saturday. Our team competed against much larger schools from the Longview, Vancouver, and Olympia areas. At the end of the day, Naselle placed 11th out of 32 teams overall. Great job, Naselle students and coaches (Rudi Rudolph and Ron Wright).

It was a tough series against a strong Mason Middle School team, who won 2-0. We're proud of the effort and teamwork our players showed!

Rona earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science Education and a minor in Biology from Western Washington University (WWU). She later completed a Master’s Degree in Secondary Science Education through WWU and an endorsement in K-12 Library Science. Rona’s first teaching position was in Taholah, where she taught in the library for 2 years. Following her 2 years in Taholah, she returned to WWU to complete her master’s degree. She spent the next 13 years as the head librarian in the Ocean Beach School District during which time she supervised multiple libraries. Rona spent 12 more years teaching science at the high school, 6 years as the GEAR UP Coordinator, and a total of 25 years serving OBSD. Rona says that she loves teaching in Naselle. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading mystery books, refinishing furniture, and jigsaw puzzles. Rona’s favorite place to be is at home with her family.
