Dear Naselle-Grays River Valley Communities,
It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I write to you as the new Superintendent of the Naselle-Grays River Valley School District. I am humbled and honored to serve in this role and to join a district with such a proud tradition of academic excellence, community support, and commitment to student success. I am excited to work alongside our dedicated staff, students, families, and community partners as we build on the district’s strong foundation and continue moving forward together.
Over the coming weeks and months, I look forward to meeting many of you and learning more about the unique qualities that make our schools and community so special. Whether at school events, community functions, or just casual conversations around town, I hope to listen, learn, and build strong relationships that will support our shared vision for student achievement and well-being.
One of the most exciting new opportunities already available to our high school students is access to College in the High School (CiHS) courses through Eastern Washington University. Students can now earn up to 35 college credits right here on our campus—20 credits with Mrs. Summer Johnson and 15 credits with Ms. Haleigh See. These courses are completely free to families, held during the regular school day, and the district provides all required textbooks. This initiative represents our strong belief in providing access to postsecondary opportunities for all students on the Naselle-Grays River campus.
We are also expanding our Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings through a growing partnership with Grays Harbor Community College. Beginning next school year, students will have the opportunity to earn 5 college credits through dual-credit CTE courses taught by Mr. Rudi Rudolph and Mr. Jim Moten. Just like CiHS, these credits are completely free to families. We are actively working to expand these offerings to provide even more pathways for our students to explore meaningful careers and technical fields while still in high school.
I am truly honored to be part of this exceptional district and grateful for the warm welcome I’ve received. I look forward to working with each of you as we support our students in achieving their full potential.
